On July 14, the 2026 Autonomous Laboratory Conference was held in Beijing as part of the Zhongguancun Forum series. Dr. Zongyang Peng, Co-founder and CTO of Yanhe Technology, delivered a presentation titled “High-Throughput Perovskite Solar Cell R&D and AI Exploration.”

Peng shared Yanhe Technology’s progress in perovskite commercialization and introduced the company’s closed-loop R&D system combining AI, high-throughput experimentation, automated materials synthesis and pilot-scale validation.
Perovskite photovoltaics are expanding beyond conventional solar applications due to their strong low-light performance, lightweight structure and flexible form factors. Yanhe’s perovskite ambient light energy harvesting products have already been applied in smart locks, battery-free remote controls and e-paper displays. The technology also shows strong potential in space photovoltaics, where high efficiency, low weight and radiation resistance are critical.
To accelerate material discovery and process optimization, Yanhe uses high-throughput experimental platforms to screen materials and formulations in parallel. Experimental data are then fed into AI models for performance prediction, defect identification and formulation optimization, enabling a continuous cycle of design, synthesis, testing and validation.

Yanhe Technology is also building an AI-powered public R&D platform for perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells, together with a full-process platform for large-area tandem devices. Scheduled to become operational in September 2026, the platforms will be open to companies, universities and research institutes, with a focus on accelerating innovation for space applications.
“AI is not simply an auxiliary tool for R&D,” Peng said. “Combined with high-throughput experimentation, it is fundamentally reshaping how new materials are discovered and developed.”

The conference focused on AI for Science, scientific instrumentation and industrial applications, bringing together leading representatives from academia and industry.
